Claudeforce: Claude Moves Into the Heart of Salesforce

On August 26, 2026, Salesforce and Anthropic (the company behind the AI assistant Claude) announced Claudeforce, an expansion of their partnership. The idea: make Salesforce data, processes, and business rules accessible directly within a conversation with Claude.
The Starting Point: Salesforce in Claude
The partnership kicks off with Salesforce in Claude, a plugin with 37 prebuilt skills designed for sales teams. In practice, a rep can query their Salesforce data in real time, review their pipeline, prep for a call, or update a record, right inside a conversation with Claude. No more clicking from screen to screen.
One important point: actions always go through your Salesforce rules. An administrator turns the connection on once, and the whole team has access from the start, with no account-by-account setup.
Sales leads the way, but customer service, marketing, commerce, and other teams will follow over the coming months.
Claude, on Both Sides of the Equation
Behind the name "Claudeforce" is a two-way partnership. On one side, Salesforce comes into Claude, as we just saw. On the other, Claude comes into Salesforce: it serves as a reasoning engine within Agentforce, Salesforce's AI agent platform, and it's available in Agent Builder for teams building their own agents. Claude also moves into Slack, which Salesforce has owned since 2021, where it becomes the default model and powers Claude Tag, an AI teammate you can call on directly within a team conversation.
Security, Built In From the Start
A key point for organizations here: Claude respects the permissions and business rules already in place in your Salesforce, you keep control over how much autonomy it has, and your data is covered by zero retention.
Thanks to Amazon Bedrock, Claude can also run inside Salesforce's trust boundary. That means even the most regulated sectors, such as finance and healthcare, can use it without their data ever leaving their secure environment. For a company subject to obligations like Quebec's Law 25, that's a compelling advantage.
When Will It Be Available?
Salesforce in Claude is available to a handful of pilot customers right now, and an open beta is planned for September 2026. Additional prebuilt skills are set to start rolling out later in 2026.
In Short
Salesforce still handles the essentials: your data, your rules, and your governance. What Claudeforce adds is a new way to access it, by conversing in natural language and taking action directly. The way we work with a CRM is changing, and Claudeforce is one of the most concrete examples of that so far.
